Frequently Asked Questions
FINDING THE GOWN OF YOUR DREAMS
- Why do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?
In order to give you the full "Regiss Experience" and the undivided attention of one of our professional consultant we request that you make an appointment.
- Do I need to bring anything with me to my appointment?
If you have found pictures of dresses you are interested in, please bring those with you. While we may not have the exact gown, we will have something very similar. Also bring an open mind. Many times a bride will purchase a dress that is not like the photos that she brought in. Dresses look very different when you put them on your body versus the model in the magazine.
- What are the prices of your gowns?
We have dresses that begin as low as $199 and go as high as $4,999. Let us know what your budget is and we can help you find the perfect dress within your budget.
- May I take photos of the dresses?
Due to manufacturer's request we do not allow photography. Once you have decided to purchase a gown you may take as many photos as you like.
- If I have found a gown on a designer's website, can you order it for me?
This will depend on the designer. We recommend you make an appointment and bring the photo with you. It is not recommended to order a gown that you have never tried on. Although it may look great in the photo, it may not fit your body as well as you would like. Your consultant can assist you in finding sample gowns to try on that are similar to the one you have picked out. Work with your consultant to make the best decision for you. We want you to be happy with your purchase and once we order the gown for you, it is not returnable. All Sales Are Final.
THE BIG PURCHASE
- How early do I need to order my wedding gown?
While this will somewhat depend upon the dress and designer you choose, the basic rule of thumb is 9 months prior to your wedding date. You will need to add additional time if you are making a custom order.
- What is your policy on payment? What forms of payment do you accept?

Tuxedo rentalsÊrequire a $40 deposit with the remaining balance dueupon pickup. VISA, MasterCard, Discover, cash and checkÊare accepted.Ê
- How long does it take to have my bridal gown pressed / steamed?
We ask that you allow a minimum of three weeks for pressing / steaming. If you purchase your bridal gown from us the cost of pressing / steaming is included in the cost of your gown.
- I plan on losing weight before the wedding, should I order a smaller size?
Although the decision on choosing a size is up to the customer, we recommend that you order the size for which you measure for and have it altered. It is better to go the safe route rather than having a dress that is too small.
- What are my options if my wedding is in less than 5 months?
You have a couple of options but you really should make a decision quickly. First, you can purchase a gown from our floor samples. Secondly, ask your consultant which designers may be able to meet your deadline with a rush order. Rush fees are additional.
ALTERATIONS
- How much time should I allow for alterations?
This will depend upon how much your dress needs to be altered. However, we suggest that you allow a minimum of 6 weeks.
- Are alterations included in the cost of my wedding dress?
No, alterations are an additional charge. Typical bridal gown alterations will be between $150 and $250.
- Can you recommend someone to do my alterations?
We have a list of people who will do bridal alterations. However, we do not "recommend" a specific person; we only provide a list for you. We do have an alteration department here at the store. You can schedule your appointments with us for your convenience.
THE WEDDING PARTY
- How early do I need to order my bridesmaid's dresses?
We highly recommend that you place your order 6 months prior to your wedding date. It typically takes 3 to 4 months for the dresses to be delivered and 4 to 8 weeks for alterations. We require that your bridesmaid dresses be paid in full before we can order them.
- How early do I need to have my groomsmen fitted for a tuxedo?
The earlier, the better. We recommend that you choose your tuxedos 2 months prior to your wedding date. This will allow your groomsmen enough time to come in for measurements. We require a $40 deposit to rent a tuxedo; the remaining balance is due upon pick-up. If tuxedos are ordered less than 2 weeks prior to the event you will be subject to a rush fee.
MISCELLANOUS
- What is a courtesy measurement and will you do it for me?
Courtesy measurements are measurements taken for a purchase/rental you are making from another store. Typically when people are in a wedding in another state they will come to us for professional measurements. We will be happy to do a courtesy measurement for tuxedos, however we will not perform courtesy measurements for bridesmaid's dresses.
- Can you ship my dress out of state for me?
Absolutely, we can ship anywhere you need. Shipping fees will apply.
- What is a trunk show?
A trunk show is a special in-store event that is typically on a Friday and Saturday. During this special event you can view and buy from a designer's latest collection. Many times a designer will send a representative to the store during the trunk show. If you find your dream dress during a trunk show be prepared to make a decision that day, as the dress will not be in the store once the trunk show is over. Bridals of Regiss Park / Regiss Bridal and Prom hosts many trunk show throughout the year. Click here to view our events calendar.
